By bringing together preeminent philanthropic, government, donor, multilateral development banks (MDBs), development finance institutions (DFIs), and private sector partners, we are building a unique international platform that transforms the energy systems in developing and emerging economies.
With our collective specializations and expertise, we focus on three types of energy projects:
- Fossil fuel transitions: Decommissioning and repurposing large, aging coal plants and installed diesel/HFO assets
- Grid-based renewables: Deploying utility-scale generation, storage, distribution, and transmission
- Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) systems: Scaling mini-grid and roof-top solutions to off-grid and underserved communities
Across all project types, we will ensure jobs are being created, that the productive use of power is being enabled, and that the projects are equitable – focusing on uplifting low-income communities and promoting gender equality.
At our core, we are a vehicle for bringing best-in-class solutions and ideas to partners and creating a platform that addresses the fragmentation of the sector.
By playing this coordination role, we are well placed to drive the adoption and scale of data, technology, and financial innovation that accelerate energy transformations, and to use our voice to amplify global advocacy efforts that increase the pace of equitable energy transitions.
Our consortium of partners
With less than nine years to achieve SDG7, the launch of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) could not come at a better time. As a partner, we at Sustainable Energy for All recognize the catalytic role that galvanizing partners and resources can play towards unlocking a just, equitable, and prosperous future for all.”
